Ken's Body Shop has earned the trust and approval to become a Direct/Repair Appraisal facility for 13 major insurance companies As a direct repair facility, Ken's Body Shop actually steps into the roll as the insurance appraiser. Upon contacting your insurance company or the other party's company Ken's Body Shop will receive an assignment directly through a computer link with the insurance company. This assignment allows Ken's Body Shop to appraise the damage on your automobile as per the guidelines of the insurance company, take digital images and download this information to the insurance company. This is the entire appraisal process, complete and virtually instantaneous. At this point, Ken's Body Shop immediately orders your parts, can immediately begin repairs on your automobile or schedule a more convenient time with you. During the repair process, if additional damage is found, we simply take additional images, note the damage and continue with the repair. If this were not a Direct Repair assignment, we would have to contact the outside appraiser, stop work, and wait for their phone call or possible visit and eventually their approval for the additional work. This could translate into a potential time delay of 2-3 days. Upon completion of the automobile, we finalize our appraisal, which becomes the final completed bill for your insurance company. The final bill is uploaded with digital images via the computer, the automobile is delivered to the customer and Ken's Body Shop waits for final payment (not the customer). Your responsibility is primarily your deductible. If your insurance company has not yet developed a direct repair program as above, the steps are more complex and usually take more time. However, our professional and expeditious staff will handle all of the concerns. We will arrange the appraisal inspection at Ken's Body Shop, monitor the claim review process, negotiate an agreed upon repair process, seek approved supplements if necessary and verify issuance of final payment. All of this will be accomplished by our staff, not the customer, as well as always maintaining our high quality of repair standards. As you can see, if at all possible, the Direct Repair process streamlines the entire claim process from start to finish as well as the automobile repair itself. As an approved collision repair facility for the Direct Repair insurance companies listed above, many offer a lifetime warranty for all work performed at one of their approved collision repair facilities - quite a commitment! In addition, Ken's Body Shop offers to all their customers a "lifetime warranty" for as long as you own your automobile (see warranty page for more information).
